A New Era of Pride: Building a Global Infrastructure
of LGBTQ+ Solidarity

At a time when LGBTQ+ rights and safety are facing renewed challenges across the globe, partnerships
are no longer optional;they are essential. For queer communities, visibility alone is not enough; what’s
needed now is coordination, protection, and trust that extends beyond borders. Increasingly, travelers,
advocates, and local leaders are asking the same question: where is it safe to gather, celebrate, and
simply exist freely?
The answer is beginning to take shape through a new kind of collaboration; one that treats Pride not
as a standalone event, but as an interconnected global system. NYC Pride and Puerto Vallarta Pride are
leading the way with a new “Sister Pride” Pact, reflecting a shift from symbolic alignment to formal,
strategic cooperation. Supported by both the Puerto Vallarta municipal government and the Mexican
Consulate in New York, the pact represents a global commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ rights, safety,
and cultural exchange.
